James Henry Jones enlisted into the Devonshire Regiment on 8 September 1914, disembarked at France on 27 July 1915, and was admitted to the No. 11 Casualty Clearing Station in October 1917 after suffering a gunshot wound to the buttock. He was discharged on 3 January 1919 and is further entitled to a 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, and Silver War Badge number B112292.
