The campaign group of three awarded to Private - late Ordinary Seaman - A. P. Iles, who served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during the Great War before joining the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment for Iraq, Northwest Persia, and Waziristan

Albert Percival Iles was born in 1899 in Stepney, London and enlisted with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in June 1917, with which he served for the duration of the Great War before being demobilised in February 1919.
Iles attested in London that September as a Private with the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment, with whom he was posted to Iraq the same month. They moved to Northwest Persia in May 1920 and remained there until disembarking at Bombay in November 1921. Iles was discharged at Reading in September 1931 upon the completion of twelve years of service.
Iles is further entitled to an India General Service Medal 1908-35 with a clasp for Waziristan 1921-24.
