William Stote Leask was born at South Shields, Durham and enlisted at Simonstown, South Africa on 22 September 1915, serving in German South West Africa. He was recognised for his work on retubing the main condensers of Goliath at H.M. Naval Dockyard at Simonstown in February 1915. His medals were sent to him in 1920 and 1922; sold with copied service papers.
