Ernest Bristow served in France from 30 August 1914 and was wounded by a gunshot wound to the right hand that required hospitalisation; sold together with an original notification (dated 14 November 1914) from Army Records to the family stating that Bristow had received a gunshot wound to the right hand in 1914 and was in hospital in France.
