George Edward Spencer served with the 15th (Northumberland) Company, Imperial Yeomanry during the Anglo-Boer War. He entered the war in France on 4 May 1915 with the rank of Lance Serjeant, later being promoted Sergeant. Spencer was discharged to commission on 30 April 1917 with the 2nd King Edward's Horse, later being advanced Captain; sold together with copied medal rolls, London Gazette extract and MIC.
