Adolphus William Rowles was born in 1880 in Henley, Oxfordshire and was part of the 2nd Battalion Oxford Volunteers from 1899 to 1901, when he attested with the 58th Company Imperial Yeomanry at Reading. Rowles was stationed in South Africa from March 1901 until August 1902 and was discharged that year at Aldershot upon the termination of his engagement period. He tragically died only two years later of epilepsy, vertigo, and brain paralysis at age 24; sold together with copied research.
