Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (6231 Pte R. Blair, 2:Sea:Highrs:), sold together with a South African War Veterans Association badge, good very fine
Robert Blair served during the Anglo-Boer War (King's South Africa Medal) and was still with the Seaforth Highlanders during the Great War. He entered the war on 15 September 1914 (1914 Star, British War and Victory Medals) and is noted as being discharged to the Territorial Army in August 1915 as a result of his age. Oddly he was reported as wounded in action on 27 September 1917 but in fact was admitted sick to the 1st Scottish General Hospital, Aberdeen; sold together with copied MIC, medal rolls and copied newspaper extract.
