Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (10592 Pte P.N. Aldworth, 58th Coy 15th Imp: Yeo:), very fine

Phillip Neville Aldworth was born in 1878 in Buckland, Berkshire and trained with the Marlborough College Cadet Corps before enlisting with the Imperial Yeomanry at Reading in 1900 and was in the 58th Company, 15th Battalion. He was posted to South Africa in the 1st Contingent of the 58th Company in March 1900 and was involved in the Lindley Affair that May, in which the 15th Battalion under General Methuen attempted to save the 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry from being captured by the Boers, but were too late. Aldworth was discharged at his own request on 26 January 1901 and later lived in Wallingford, Oxfordshire with his wife and children; sold together with copied research.
