The group of four attributed to Sub Lieutenant M. G. Clyde, Royal Navy, who was killed whilst serving aboard H.M.S. Sheffield on 24 September 1942

William Thomas Clyde was born on 28 March 1895 at Dublin, Ireland abd was commissioned on 10 April 1915 seeing service firstly with the Machine Gun Corps before transferring to the Indian Army where he served with the 2/94th Infantry. Later serving in the Indian Regular Reserve of Officers he was promoted to Major on 3 September 1939 until he reached the permitted age limit on 28 March 1945; Sold together with a copper plate for a business card for Captain W. T. Clyde, Indian Army (Retired).
Maurice Gerrard Clyde was born on 13 April 1921 and killed on 24 September 1942 whilst serving on Sheffield. He is commemorated on the Lee-On-Solent memorial.
