Ex-Gaston-Grubb Collection.

John Sydney Gaston was born in 1922, the son of Sydney Leonard Gaston and Constance Edith Gaston, of Mitcham, Surrey. He was killed in action when the Pilot of Halifax II HR711 which took off at 2245hrs on 29 July 1943 from Pocklington. Gaston was killed in action with all of the crew when they crashed into the sea near of Heligoland. He is buried in the Hamburg Cemetery.
