George William France was born in 1911, the son of Charles and Mary France. He married Edith Jane France of Greenheys, Manchester before joining the Royal Air Force during the Second World War with the service number 647957. While serving at the Marine Repair Base, Port Said, Egypt France attended an screening at the Eldorado Cinema. He fell from the balcony during the show and died of his injuries, being buried at Port Said War Memorial Cemetery; sold together with a copied Commonwealth War Graves certificate.
