Robert Edward Swain Packham was born in 1923, the son of George and Grace Packham. Commencing his career on 4 July 1944, Packham completed no less than 14 Ops in quick order. When Flight Engineer of Lancaster PD258 on a raid on Konigsburg on 29 August, Packham and his comrades were lost when their aircraft crashed into the sea. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial and left a widow; sold together with copied research.
