Three: Pilot Officer S. Rosenberg, No. 106 Squadron, Royal Air Force, a veteran of the 1,000 Bomber Raids who was killed in action on 25 August 1942

Stanley Rosenberg was born on 16 October 1920, the son of Arthur Robert and Elizabeth Rosenberg of Hythe Kent. Serving as Pilot officer (Air Gunner) with 106 Squadron he was killed in action on the 25 August 1942. Rosenberg is buried in the Oostende New Communal Cemetery, Belgium.

106 Squadron formed part of the 1,000 bomber raids that bombed targets such as Essen and Bremen in the summer of 1942. They flew Lancaster bombers having previously been flying Manchesters.

Sold together with an archive comprising:

O.H.M.S. box of issue named and addressed to 'A. Rosenberg, 16, St. Hilda's Road, Hythe, Kent.'

Named condolence slip.

(iii)
Section of ticker tape, marked 109711 P/O.

(iv)
Air Gunner brevet.

(v)
Yellow metal locket with two head photographs of him wearing an RAF cap.

(vi)
Air Ministry letter dated 24 November 1944 confirming he is buried in Grave No.32, Row 4, Communal Cemetery at Steene, Ostende, Belgium.

(v)
Birth Certificate, together with a number of other family members certificates of birth and death.

(vi)
Assorted photographs to include him in uniform, photographs of his gravestone and those of a family visit to his gravestone.
