Herbert Charles Frost was born on 13 January 1918 and lived at 79 Hood Avenue, Northampton. Joining the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War, promoted Pilot Officer on 18 December 1942. Posted to No. 156 Squadron, this unit served as one of the Pathfinders. His Lancaster HD446 was shot down, while being piloted by Squadron Leader Philip Goodwin. They were likely the sixth victim of German Ace Tino Becker over Berlin on 31 March 1944. Three of the crew survived but Frost was not amongst them, he is buried at the Berlin 1939-45 War Cemetery; sold together with the recipient's WAG wings along with an archive of research comprising:
