Great Britain: Saint Leonards Archery Gardens Company Limited, £5 share, 187[1], #31, black. Registered 1865 to take over the Archery Gardens in Saint Leonards, Sussex. The gardens were founded to host archery, golf and croquet competitions and could accommodate 2000 people. In financial difficulty by 1909 but extended to host tennis which overtook archery as the main sport. The Gardens were put up for sale in 1953 and later became Hastings College of Arts and Technology and now is a housing development. VF and rare.
