Arthur Whalley Foole (or Fooley) was born at Clitheroe, Lancashire on 15 April 1898. Attesting at Gosport on 7 June 1916 he was mobilised on 3 June 1917 and posted to Hatton Park Signal Depot on 26 June 1917. Entering the war in France on 15 February 1918 Foole served with 504 Siege Battery until he was invalided and reposted to Base Depot on 11 November 1918. Demobilised on 22 February 1919 under the name of Fooley; sold together with copied research including M.I.C., census and service papers.
