Claude George Weeks was born at Brighton, Sussex on 17 June 1899, the son of George and Kate Weeks of 3 Boston Street, Brighton. His father and mother both died in 1908 leaving George an inmate of Warren Farm Industrial School, an Orphanage in Rottingdean. Enlisting with the Lincolnshire Regiment he was posted to the 10th (Grimsby) Battalion, also called the 'Grimsby' Chums'. This Battalion saw action on the Somme, at Arras and later Passchendaele, despite this heavy fighting Weeks survived and was discharged after the war. He married Kathleen Daisy Redman in 1928 and was working as a Diary Manager in 1939. Weeks died in 1980.
