Percy Bowring was born in 1900, the son of John and Florence Bowring of 11 Albion Road, Middlesex. Joining 12th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment he served during the Great War. Later employed as a Butcher at Stella Butchers, 22a Sun Street, Waltham Abbey. Bowring’s brother Arthur was killed on 15 May 1916 while serving with 20th Division Signal Company, Royal Engineers; sold together with copied census and M.I.C. information as well as details relating to the service and death of his brother as well as original photographs, birth and marriage index documents and driving licences along with handwritten notes summarising these documents along with a corresponding riband bar.
