EDM, short cross fleury, inward voided piles surmounted by trefoils, 1.39g, 6h (Eaglen [2006], die combination 42; North 879; BMC VI; Spink 1281), on a slightly concave and irregular flan, the reverse somewhat off-struck, otherwise rich dark patina, uniformly struck up and most pleasing for this notoriously 'soft' series, a handsome very fine, very rare
