Great Britain: Voelker Incandescent Mantle Limited, £1 shares, 1[899], #210, attractive heading with vignette of the gas mantle, red. A large company founded in 1899 to manufacture gas mantles (for lighting) at the Albert Works in Wandsworth. Name changed to the Voelker Lighting Corporation Limited in 1905. William Voelker was an American engineer from Elizabeth, New Jersey who owned several patents. This would explain why the shareholder on the 3 certificates seen are all American. VF and rare.
