Great Britain: Welsbach Incandescent Gas Light Company Limited, three different certificates of this important company comprising deferred shares, 189[8], #7691, black, pink underprint; ordinary shares, 19[04], #1735, blue and preference shares, 19[04], #972, red. The Welsbach name (from Austrian inventor Carl Auer von Welsbach) is synonymous with gas mantles like Hoover is to vacuum cleaners and was certainly the largest company having numerous branches and subsidiaries in many countries. Name changed to Welsbach Light Company Ltd. in 1914. VF (3) and a rare group.
