These were available up to 31 January 1923 when they ceased to be valid. On 17 December 1920 the League of Nations conferred a Mandate of Administration of the territory on His Britannic Majesty, to be carried out by the government in South Africa. The Mandate came into force on 1 January 1923, on which date the first South African stamps overprinted for use in the territory were issued

G size registered envelopes (3), comprising one uprated with 1d. from Otjiwarongo to Swakopmund with manuscript registration name and superb circular censor handstamp, one up rated with ½d. and 1d. from Brackwasser to Luderitz with manuscript registration number and one (date not clear) uprated with 6d. from Karibib to Swakopmund with registration name, and 1921 5½d. G size registered envelope, uprated with ½d., from Usakos with boxed registration handstamp. A fine and attractive quartet
