(x) U.S.A.: Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, common stock trust certificate, [1901], #C10462, issued to E. H. Harriman and signed by him on the reverse, allegorical figure at top left, brown and black, cancelled. E.H.Harriman (1848-1909), Railroad executive and capitalist. His early career was spent reorganising bankrupt railroads and in 1895 reorganised the Union Pacific and became its President in 1903. Fought Hill for control of the Northern Pacific resulting in the stock market panic of 1901. EF.
