1810 (c.) cover from Lhasa Amban to the Maharaja of Nepal; the reverse with receipt date and filing note in Bikram Sabat, with a single impression of the Grand seal of the Lhasa Amban. The envelope has become a little crumpled, especially at top and bottom and there are a few age holes. Nepal became a protectorate of China after the Second Nepal-Tibet War which ended with the treaty of 1792; this stated that there should be regular official communication between the Lhasa Amban and the Maharaja; this is an early communication and is scarce thus.
