1793 (10 June) entire letter from Edward Jones to Sir Ralph Payne, former Governor of the Leeward Islands, in London, marked "By Capt Ross", rated "9", showing unframed "portsmouth/ship-lre" with arrival d.s. (2.8) on reverse, small light central stain on face panel; 1797 (2 Mar./23 Mar.) lengthy four page letter ex the Codrington correspondence, writer and recipient unknown; and 1814 (14 Feb.) entire letter from M.N. Nugent, Deputy Speaker of the Leeward Islands House of Assembly, to Edinburgh, headed "On board Ship West Indian, St. Helen's Road", rated "8" (deleted) and "1/2" , showing framed "Addl/½" partly overstruck by red arrival d.s. (18.2) and, on reverse, Portsmouth transit d.s.
