KLM Lydda - Singapore - Sydney Service and Return
Following Italy's entry into the war in June 1940, KLM moved its operational HQ to Palestine and commenced on 30 July a weekly service from Lydda to Sydney via Singapore.

1940 (4 Aug.) and (18 Aug.) envelopes (the latter registered) from Tel Aviv to USA, marked "Transatlantic Clipper", franked at 1p.50m. and 2p.65m. respectively and the former with "ex" label, both flown by KLM to Singapore where censored and "to be forwarded by/air from singapore" applied, and then by PAA from Manila to USA.
