KLM Lydda - Singapore - Sydney Service and Return
Following Italy's entry into the war in June 1940, KLM moved its operational HQ to Palestine and commenced on 30 July a weekly service from Lydda to Sydney via Singapore.
1940 (29 July) envelope from Palestine to Victoria, marked "First Flight Cover Lydda to Sydney 30/7/40", franked at 60m and showing violet Censor cachet; envelope with part flap missing. Very scarce. Photo
