Mail went by BOAC to Hong Kong, where it was transferred to PAA FAM-14 China Clipper to San Francisco, then internal airmail to New York, the journey from there being made by sea to the UK.
1941 (24 June) envelope from Kudat to Sussex, marked "By BOAC as far as service permits", franked at 60c. plus 2c. War Tax and showing light triangular "passed for transmission/north borneo" cachet in violet. Photo
