The Brisbane - Singapore section of the Australia - England route was inaugurated on 10 December, with Qantas operating the Brisbane - Darwin section, and Imperial, under contract to Qantas, the Darwin - Singapore section. The mail left Darwin on 13 December and arrived in Singapore on the 15th.
1936 (23 Sept.) envelope registered from Ayer Kuning (Negri Sembilan) to New South Wales, marked "Qantas", franked at 41c. and showing large framed "duty free" in violet with, on reverse, Tampin (23.9), Darwin (27.9), TPO 2 South and arrival datestamps. Most unusual Photo
