The Brisbane - Singapore section of the Australia - England route was inaugurated on 10 December, with Qantas operating the Brisbane - Darwin section, and Imperial, under contract to Qantas, the Darwin - Singapore section. The mail left Darwin on 13 December and arrived in Singapore on the 15th.
1934 (15 Dec.) "avis de reception" card from Johore Bahru to Melbourne, marked "1st Regular Flight" and bearing, on reverse, Australia 1½d. pair applied and cancelled on arrival with Johore despatch c.d.s. below; the front with two small adhesive tape stains in the top corners. Very scarce and most unusual
