The Brisbane - Singapore section of the Australia - England route was inaugurated on 10 December, with Qantas operating the Brisbane - Darwin section, and Imperial, under contract to Qantas, the Darwin - Singapore section. The mail left Darwin on 13 December and arrived in Singapore on the 15th.
1937 (20 Mar.) envelope from Segamat (Johore) to Queensland and franked at 40c.; then envelope has then been re-used and addressed to Argentina, marked "Via Australia - London, Argentina via USA", franked at 6/11d. and cancelled at Palmwood (6.4). Most unusual and very rare. Photo
