1929 Baron Von Koenig Calcutta - Singapore - Tokyo Flight
Competing for President Hindenburg's Cup "for the most sporting amateur flight made by a German subject", Baron von Koenig began his Far East flight in Berlin in August 1928, left Calcutta in "Kamerad", a Klemm-Daimler Baby plane for Akyab, Rangoon, Bangkok and arrived in Singapore on 26 March

1929 unstamped envelope addressed to Calcutta, marked "From: Calcutta/To: Singapore/and/From: Osaka/To: Tokyo", showing Park Street Calcutta Due h.s., special "Carried by Baron Von Koenig, "The Boy Pilot",/On his historic Flight./To the far east" label, and violet "kamerad" h.s. Rare, only seven covers carried on this leg. Photo

Note: From Singapore, the Baron continued his Far East flight and was in Osaka in May and arrived in Tokyo on the 11th. Here the "Kamerad" was shipped to San Francisco from where the Baron flew to New York.
