1930 Francis Chichester Singapore - Australia Flight
On 20 December 1929 Francis Chichester flew from Croydon to Australia in a DH60G Moth G-AAKK. After a delay of 18 days due to a crash in Tripoli, he arrived in Singapore on 20 January 1930 and continued the flight the next morning, reaching Darwin on 25 January and Sydney on 30 January.

1930 (20 Jan.) envelope (with letter headed "205 (Flying Boat) Squadron, Royal Air Force Base, Singapore") addressed to Melbourne and redirected to Perth, marked "By air by courtesy...Chichester in Moth GAAKK. Posted Singapore 20.1.30", bearing Australia KGV ½d. and 1d. tied by Sydney c.d.s. and Melbourne machine d.s., and further marked "By Air from Singapore to Sydney, Francis C. Chichester" in his hand-writing. The only cover recorded originating from outside Australia. Photo
