1857 (28 Oct.) and 1858 (19 Feb) envelopes ex the same correspondence from St. John's to Madrid, rated "4" and "1/8", and "2" and "1/-" respectively, both showing "st johns newfoundland/paid" c.d.s. in red, circular-framed "pp", London transit c.d.s. and Calais entry c.d.s., the former also showing "12" and "Rs" handstamps and the latter "8" and "Rs", all in blue. A fine pair of covers
