1900 (May) envelope from Toronto to Lt. Col. Ryerson of the Canadian Red Cross Commission in Cape Town, franked at 2c. and with a faint strike of the Contingent cachet in violet, redirected three times and eventually sent back to Toronto, and 1900 (26 Sept.) OHMS blue envelope from Military Hospital, Wynberg to the same addressee in Canada, franked at 1d. with squared-circle datestamp; an unusual pair to Ryerson who had arrived on board S.S. Laurentian and who did much good in organising hospital work at various centres
