x India 1854 Issue Issued Stamps Covers To Mauritius and Reunion 1856 (30 Mar.) envelope, complete with contents headed "Camp Raipore". from Raipore "via Madras" to Miss Higginson c/o her father, The Governor, Mauritius, bearing 1/2a. Die I deep blue horizontal pair (large margins in places) cancelled in manuscript and each clearly cancelled "84", additionally tied by "packet letter/mauritius" oval arrival d.s. (12.6), the reverse with despatch and Madras G.P.O. transit d.s. (10.4); the envelope with some faults, in part due the fragility of the paper, though a rare and unusual franking.
