x India 1854 Issue Issued Stamps Covers To The United Kingdom 1855 (30 July) entire from Cherraponjee "Via Southampton Steamer Postage prepaid to England" to Devon, bearing 4th. Printing 4a. blue and red horizontal pair, [17-18], in combination with 2a. yellow-green, all with four margins and lightly cancelled with diamond of dots, the endorsement additionally tying the pair, showing framed "india/paid" h.s, London Paid c.d.s. (24.9) and, on reverse, despatch, Calcutta and arrival (24.9) d.s. The interesting contents refer to an uprising of natives in the Rajmahal Hills. Rare and most attractive. B.P.A. Certificate (1974).
