Gibraltar 1886 (1 January) Overprinted on Stamps of Bermuda Issue, Covers The following section offers what is almost certainly the finest group of these first issue covers ever assembled in one collection. It features a number of remarkable frankings and rates, together with some most unusual destinations 1886 (28 Feb.) 2d. G size registered envelope to Hamburg, bearing 1/2d. dull green, 1d. rose-red (2) and 2 1/2d. ultramarine cancelled by two strikes of the Registered oval d.s. and with a further strike at lower left, the reverse with San Fernando (1.3), Madrid (2.3) and Hamburg (5.3) d.s.; a fine and attractive three colour franking.
