BulgariaRural Mail1894, Sept. 18. "Small Lion" 5st. green postal stationery card from village Gabarevo to Ruse, cancelled by undated small "Poschta Selo Gabarevo" double circle. From 1882 until end 1894 the first rural mail was accepted and delivered by local country constables (the rural police); in January 1895 the new state-run rural mail system started with state-funded employees.
