Società di Esportazione Polenghi Lombardo. Azione 1 da 120 L., Lodi, August 1941. Nr. 10083/280683. This Company was a pioneer in the Italian milk and dairy industry. It was founded in Codogno in 1870, by the brothers Peter and Paul Polenghi of San Fiorano. They started producing and developing trade in dairy products, butter, yogurt and several types of cheese, as well as to dairy products for children, including the first milk powder. After the World War II the Company changed its name to Polenghi Lombardo SpA and opened the plant in Lodi, as well as a number of other smaller production units. In 1950 it was bought by Federconsorzi and launched in 1954, the first Italian UHT milk with the name of Milk Star. Today the Company is part of Newlat of Reggio Emilia. EF.
