Ferrovia Funicolare del Vesuvio. Share 500 F, Paris, 31. January 1879. Nr. 1339. The “Ferrovia Funicolare del Vesuvio”, the first funicular cable car on Mount Vesuvius, was 830 Meters long and inaugurated 1880. In 1944 it was destroyed by an eruption of the volcano. The world famous Neapolitan song “Funiculì funicolà” was composed for its opening ceremony. Right border tears and repairs. VF.
