The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, $5, 2.5.1959, serial number 000002 AA, brown on pale green and orange underprint, reclining maiden at right, coat of arms at centre, reverse brown and multicolour, bank building at centre,
(Pick 181a), PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated. The second issued note of the small sized $5 which is two notes apart from the previous lot. Exceedingly rare especially when offered together with the previous lot and a must-have note for any serious collector of vintage Hong Kong banknotes. The buyer who spends the highest amount on this section will receive as a gift 4x Bank of England notes as well as an original HSBC envelope used at the time bearing the Bank's chop.
