The Chartered Bank of India, China and Australia, $25, black and white die proof of an unissued reverse, handwritten 'Sep 16 1863', the same design featured on the $500, as shown in 'Coinage & Paper Money Hong Kong', dragon at centre, concentric circles left and right, '25' left and right, printed by Batho and Co, London. A similar reverse is seen on the $500 printed between 1879 and 1910 and therefore explains why PMG labels the date as being 1879-1910.
