1945 (31 Aug.) The Union Jack, the British national flag, was raised in the Stanley POW camp in Hong Kong, it is marking the "Liberation Day" for the British troops inside the camp. The imprisoned British soldiers were finally freed from their ordeal. This is an old photo from that time, which was also published in the newspaper (with newspaper clippings attached).
There's also a page of memoirs about the camp, typied from a former prisoner of life in Stanley Prisoner of War Camp. This is a highly collectible piece of historical evidence of Hong Kong's fall and liberation. Note the folds on the photo. Photo size: 20 x 25.5cm


1945年8月31日, 香港赤柱戰俘營內升起英國國旗 "Union Jack", 代表此日為戰俘營內英軍的 "解放之日", 被囚禁的英軍遂得以脫離苦難. 這是一幅當時老照片, 也曾被刊登於報章上 (附剪報以證明), 另有一頁由當年的戰俘手錄關於赤柱戰俘營中生活的回憶文章. 極具收藏價值的香港從淪陷到光復的歷史見証之一, 注意照片有摺痕. 照片尺寸: 20 x 25.5cm
