Uganda Please note that in this section, 1895 (Mar.)-96 (June), S.G. 1-53, the quality of the paper often resulted in the stamps being creased before use. Such creases are therefore not grounds for return 1896 (Nov.) Type-set Issue Covers 1898 (27 Dec.) envelope (200x90mm., fractionally truncated) to England, bearing 1a. with thick "1" pair and 5a. (2) in combination with British East Africa 5a. (2), all cancelled with Kampala c.d.s., the reverse with "post office/Crown/mombasa" red wax seal alongside manuscript "Received open & Officially Sealed Mombasa P.O. 1 February 1899" in red ink, and showing Mombasa (1.2) and Paddington (18.3) c.d.s.; a couple of light creases well clear of the adhesives.
