Uganda Please note that in this section, 1895 (Mar.)-96 (June), S.G. 1-53, the quality of the paper often resulted in the stamps being creased before use. Such creases are therefore not grounds for return 1895 (Nov.) Narrow letters in violet, narrow stamps 20(c.) with borders or traces thereof on all four sides, cancelled with pencil stroke and affixed on 1896 (14 Jan.) envelope, initialled and dated "RHL 14/1/96" (R.H. Leakey), to the "Right Rev. Bishop Tucker C.M.S. Namirembi Uganda" redirected by Rev. Millar, who was acting as Postmaster at this time, "c/o Rev. C Gordon Bufumira " (?, partially re-written) Sese Is", and then sent back to "Mengo" (both Mengo and Namirembe, now part of the modern Kampala, were used pretty well interchangeably to describe the CMS mission); the adhesive with light gum stains and the envelope with a couple of light creases clear of the adhesive.
