x New South Wales Early Letters and Handstamps Incoming Mail 1846 (30 Dec.) envelope from Edinburgh to Sydney, carried by the "Bussorah Merchant" on the 36th outward voyage by a Toulmin Packet, marked "Paid 1/-" and "3", showing despatch and London (1.1) datestamps in red with, on reverse, Ship Letter Sydney c.d.s. (26.5) Estimate £ 60-80 Note: The "Bussorah Merchant", under the command of Captain T.S. Beale, sailed from London on 4 January, and from the Downs on 8 January. She arrived at Sydney on 26 May, after a passage of 138 days, with seven of her crew laid up with scurvy, and not enough able hands to work the ship.
