Southwark Bridge, certificate for 1 share, 1818, attractive piece, printed in black on vellum, red paper seal affixed at left, some heavy creasing in centre but about very fine. Built by John Rennie from cast iron, spanning 240 feet, joining London to Blackfriars. It was the largest bridge ever constructed of cast iron and it bankrupted the iron founders - Walkers of Rotherham. Replaced between 1912 and 1921 by the present bridge. Estimate £ 220
