Issued £1,200,000 under Act of Parliament for funding the present war. Estimate £ 400 Sir Robert Howard (1626-1698), dramatist, playwright and politician, son of Thomas, 1st Earl of Berkshire. Member of Parliament, Secretary to the Treasury in 1671, auditor of the Exchequer in 1673 and Privy Councillor in 1689.
