Uganda Covers and Cancellations 1897 (c.) envelope addressed to "R.B.P. Cator Esq., c/o Dr. Mackinnon", the latter being Director of Transport of the MacDonald Expedition at the Uganda railhead of Ndii, bearing uncancelled type-set 2a. from top right corner and 3a., the reverse of the cover shows offset of the name Cator (magistrate who had arrived in Uganda Protectorate in 1897) and Mombasa, the 4 annas rate from Uganda to Kikuyu and 1 anna British East Africa, the cover has horizontal crease probably indicating initial transmission by the cleft stick method; also top of 1897 envelope to Major MacDonald at Eldoma Ravine, bearing uncancelled type-set 4a. in combination wth BEA 1a. tied by Mombasa c.d.s.
